Chair for the Summer Tuesdays’ Committee

Roxanne Wightman moved from Los Angeles to Stillwater in 1992, after meeting her future husband,

Doug on a movie shoot in Minneapolis in 1990. Having worked in the film industry as a hairstylist for

many years in Los Angeles, she moved into a beautiful old home in Stillwater. Between flying out of town

to work on movies Roxanne has been involved with Summer Tuesdays, celebrating her 5th year as a

committee member. "This project is so much fun to be a part of and each year we push ourselves to

make it better."  Because Roxanne has to travel for most of her jobs...." it means a lot to me to live in a

community like this and volunteer my time for projects like Summer Tuesdays. I have always wanted to find

my place to call home. This is home. A very comforting thought when on the road." Last year she worked

on "A Prairie Home Companion" shot locally and a Will Ferrell NASCAR comedy shot in North Carolina.

Roxanne brings her love of film and entertainment, incredible organizational skills

and her love of Stillwater to this project.

Summer Intern for 2007

Kayla Fritz has recently finished her second year at Waldorf College in Forest City, IA. Where she is a Communications/Public Relations major. When not going to class Kayla is a cheerleader at Waldorf where she cheers for both football and basketball. Among other things Kayla is involved with being a Student Ambassador and very active in the Communications program at Waldorf. Kayla is originally from Clear Lake, SD where her mother and father reside with her younger brother heading off to college in the fall. This summer Kayla is working part-time with the Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce as the Summer Tuesdays Intern. Besides working, Kayla enjoys spending time with her family, reading a good book, spending time with friends, and traveling as much as she can.  Kayla is really excited to work with Summer Tuesdays because she has been given the great opportunity to work hand on with this project, and meet and experience working in the town of Stillwater.
